Origin, Meaning, And History Of Corina
Corina is the Spanish and Romanian variant of the feminine name Corinna, which originates from the Greek word Korinna meaning ‘maiden.’ This name was popularized by the noted Roman poet Ovid in his book Amores. Cora is a shorter form of Corina, and it was one of the names of the Greek goddess Persephone.
Persephone, known as Kore or Cora in ancient Greek mythology and religion, was the child of Zeus and Demeter. After being abducted by Hades, the ruler of the underworld, she married him and later became the queen of the underworld.
An etiological myth that explains the cyclical nature of the seasons is the kidnapping of Persephone. Persephone was sentenced to spend four months—or in some versions, six months for six seeds—with Hades because she ate pomegranate seeds in the underworld.
Demeter’s grief over losing her daughter would cause the world’s greenery and flora to wither when Persephone returned to the underworld, denoting the onset of the autumn and winter seasons. Conversely, Demeter’s delight would lead the earth’s flora to flourish and flower, signifying the spring and summer seasons when Persephone’s time was finished, and she was reunited with her mother.
This re-emergence from the underworld denotes the arrival of spring, and it serves as a symbolic representation in Greek mythology. Hence, Persephone and Demeter’s annual reunion represents death and the rebirth of life, as well as the changing of the seasons and the start of a new cycle of crop growth.
Corie, Cora, Kora, and Corrie are the diminutives of the name meanwhile,
Corinna (English, Ancient Greek, Italian, German), Korinna, Korina (Ancient Greek), and Corinne, Corine (French) are some of the variations in different cultures and languages.
In fiction and literature, Sabrina & Corina: Stories is a novel by the American short story writer and novelist Kali Fajardo-Anstine. This work was also the winner of the American Book Award in 2020.

Corina’s Zodiac Sign As Per Western Astrology
Western astrology includes the construction of a horoscope based on the person’s exact time of birth and location to understand the positions of the planet, stars, and zodiac signs at that time. However, in popular culture, it is often narrowed down to the sun sign, which depends on the person’s birth date. There are 12 zodiac signs, each having dominant traits, planetary rulers, elemental connection, and more.
Zodiac sign or Sun sign
The Earth’s orbit around the sun is divided into 12 zodiac signs covering 30-degree sectors. According to Western astrology, the zodiac or sun sign depends on the sun’s position in one of these sectors at the time of your birth. Starting from the sun’s position at the March equinox, the chart goes anti-clockwise from Aries, followed by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. These signs are ruled by planetary bodies - Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Furthermore, they are categorized into triplicities or elemental signs - fire, water, air, and earth - that govern their characteristics. Each of these zodiac signs features certain personality traits that may determine how a person presents themselves.
Why the date of birth matters
