Chances are that the male and female characters are not even seen together in a scene in the song. Cut to the latest movies, sky is the limit to usher in romance (read sexual encounters) in the songs and scenes.
Cinema reflects the times in which people live. The movies then reflected the values of a conservative society while the movies now picture the ideas of this generation.
