The digital age is a perfect platform for trollers. All you need is a mobile phone or a laptop, and you can easily bully anyone hiding behind a screen. And most often celebrities become an easy target for these nasty haters. Women are often told how to sit, stand, walk, talk, dress, and even raise their kids. And being a celebrity mom, there’s no way one can escape the trollers and their filthy and unwanted remarks. Sometimes our celebs choose to give it back, and other times they decide ignorance is the best policy. In this article, we bring to you 7 celeb moms who came under the scrutiny of social media haters and how they chose to deal with it.
1. Kareena Kapoor Khan
The Bollywood diva was body-shamed incessantly during her pregnancy and recently after her manager posted a holiday selfie of the actress in Tuscany. The trolls who called her fat and moti for her pregnancy weight gain are now body shaming her for being too thin. The sun-soaked selfie has gone viral among the trollers with people calling her skeleton and old. Many commented that she needs to eat something and to give her glucose. Though there was no response from the actress for the hate remarks, her fans came in support calling her gorgeous and beautiful in the selfie.
2. Mira Rajput
Mira Rajput has been on the receiving end of trolls far too many times than we can remember. Mira has definitely learned the hard way that being a celeb wife means people are going to watch your every move. She recently got trolled for her outfit when the couple stepped out for a dinner date. Mira was seen wearing faux leather pants and a stylish shirt. The trollers immediately started commenting on her fashion sense and how she is a fashion disaster. Earlier, Mira was trolled for wearing short skirts in spite of being a mom. Though Mira has never acknowledged these trolls, she continues to step out in her usual dapper self.
3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Whether it is for her pregnancy weight gain, her purple lipstick shade, her Cannes outfit, or being a hands-on mom, Aishwarya couldn’t escape the trolls either. But what surprised us the most was when the former Miss World was trolled for kissing her daughter on the lips. Like, really?? The photograph where Aishwarya was seen kissing her daughter on the lips ruffled a few feathers in the social media world. Many accused her of misbehaving or not acting like a mother. The actress who never responded to the trolls posted another picture of her kissing Aradhya on the lips. Trolls or no trolls, nothing can stop a mom from loving her daughter.
4. Malaika Arora
Malaika is fit and fabulous and doesn’t shy away from flaunting her figure and inspiring many to hit the gym. Being a mom, it’s a no-brainer that she is a perfect target for trolls. Malaika is brutally trolled for her choice of outfits, for showing too much skin, and for her alleged relationship with Arjun Kapoor who is younger than her. Sometime back the Chaiyya Chaiyya star gave a savage reply to the trollers by posting how being happy is a choice and that’s what she chooses for herself. She also said that she is least concerned about other people’s opinions and negativity. Hmm, happiness does look good on her.
5. Shweta Salve
The Indian television actress posted a picture of herself drinking and smoking while on vacation. The trolls were quick to judge her and called her a bad mom and commented that she was setting a bad example for her kid. The actress was quick to address the remarks and asked those who judged her if they have ever seen her ignoring or neglecting her child before jumping to such conclusions.
6. Sania Mirza
Sania Mirza came under the scrutiny of trolls when she celebrated her baby shower with her husband and Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik and her close friends. The tennis sensation who was an expectant mother at that time got mercilessly trolled and body shamed for her choice of outfit. She wore a beautiful yellow color dress for the baby shower which the netizens didn’t approve.
7. Mahira Khan
It’s been over a year since the viral pic of the Pakistani actress and Ranbir Kapoor smoking over a conversation in New York went viral. The actress was mercilessly trolled for several months for smoking up and wearing a bareback halter neck dress in spite of being a mom and a Muslim. The actress decided to issue a statement saying how she felt violated and ridiculous that her viral pic became a topic of national debate.
