Parenting is a tough job, and it’s no secret that sometimes despite our best efforts, things can go awry. If you are a parent, you probably would’ve made a few parenting choices that you are not proud of. While we all strive to be the best parent to our kids and mold them into great human beings, the road to parenthood is one with a lot of trials and errors. And God knows we are all slightly guilty of some parenting fails. Scroll down below to check out the most epic fails posted by parents.
1. Parenting Done Right!
This morning, instead of comforting a kid crying over spilled legos, my little goofball said, “No one likes whining.” 😳 #parentingfails
— Erin Callahan (@erinpcallahan) September 21, 2017
This kid might be too young for such blunt words, but we wouldn’t want to consider it a parenting fail. After all, nobody can stand a whiner.
2. The Dad Who Dug His Own Grave
Me: “I’ll give you $10 to clean your room”
Son: “No thanks I don’t need $10”
Me: “Why not?”
Son: “My tooth feels loose so I’ll just wait for some money from the Tooth Fairy…”#ParentingFails

That’s one clever kid. Maybe it’s time we tell kids the truth about Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus before an older sibling or schoolmate bursts their bubble.
3. When Your Husband Can’t Cook
My husband has a PhD in maths but he can’t cook fish fingers 😂
Plastic melted all over 🤦🏻♀️ #youarefired #parentigfails pic.twitter.com/NDb9axdHLY— Tatiana Livesey (@TatianaLivesey) January 6, 2019
Cooking is an art but it is also a basic life skill that you will probably have to learn at some point in your life. And when you are a parent, it’s high time that you learn the basics just so you don’t give your child food poisoning.
4. When Your Child Refuses To Go To School
It’s acceptable to pay your kid to go to school on the first day back in September isn’t it? Seems only fair. #parentingfails pic.twitter.com/V2xtTwZOPO
— Alice Philpot (@alipeepee) September 4, 2017
While all parents wish to teach their kids the value of money, parenting sometimes makes us do some things we aren’t proud of. For example, when your kids refuse to go to school after a fun vacation, and no amount of convincing or threatening will make them change their minds. You find yourself helpless and decide to lure them with something. Because let’s face it, we don’t have the whole day to deal with it. However, if you do it on more than one occasion, your child will definitely pick up on that, which puts you in a compromising situation.
5. When Your Mistakes Cost You
Not realising that my teenage son can use my Uber account to order Uber Eats is one of my biggest #parentingfails imo
— Margot Saville (@MargotSaville) October 9, 2018
Ouch! Kids often outsmart parents when it comes to being much more tech-savvy than us. So, it might be wise to change the privacy settings on your phone to something your kid can’t hack into.
6. When Your Kid Calls You Out
My son just called me tf out guys. “You always say when we fight to come to you, and when we do you just tell us to work it out between ourselves. Which is it mom???”…uhhhh… Lol. I told him it was both. Was that the right answer? 😂😂😂 #parentingfails pic.twitter.com/CZlBaPjr4T
— ☭❤𝔹𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕒❤☭ (@Brina_Lea) August 8, 2018
Parenting can be challenging in more ways than one. You have to constantly be there for them, answer their silly questions, make sure they eat, sleep and do their homework on time, and resolve sibling conflicts.
7. When You’re A Dog Parent
Literally half my twitter pics are of my dog and zero of my children. Oops. #NoFavouritsm #Honest #GoldenLabrador #LabradorLove #parentingfail
— Amy Richards (@GinMomGymMom) August 30, 2020
If you are a dog parent, we bet your husband and kids would find this post 100% relatable. Sure, you love your little ones more than anything. But if someone is to check your phone, chances are they will find 100 pictures of your furry baby and 10 pictures of your kids. And honestly, who can blame you? Your canine friend deserves all the love in the world.
8. When Your Kid Rejects Your Food
When we served this, 5yo said euw bugs! Why are you making me eat slugs? 🤨🤦🏻♀️😫#parentingfail #orzo #dinner #QuarantineLife pic.twitter.com/fv4P25jDfe
— Vivian Y Chang (@v_e_e_e_e) September 2, 2020
We know the pain is real when your child’s first reaction to your food is “ewww”. If a food doesn’t look appealing to them, they will show no remorse in expressing their disgust. So, if you’ve got a Jr. Gordon Ramsay at home, you might wanna steer clear of any food that reminds them of bugs, especially orzo.
9. When You Are The Fun Parent
I packed a coat, I just left it in the car… #daughter #rain #raining #daddydaughter #daddy #dad #parent #love #parentingfail pic.twitter.com/w8FuHZL0VU
— First Time Dad (@PoopCryLullaby) August 28, 2020
While some parents are all about following the rules, others are more about having fun. And while it is necessary to be authoritative at times, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to let your kids be free and have fun.
