Buying a Christmas present for my mother was always a challenging task. Since she was too picky about the clothes, I knew that anything I brought would be returned for store credit. Or she would wear it just once, and that would be it! And, cards seemed too simple for her. She also had really sensitive skin, so skincare products didn’t seem like a wise decision either. Now several years later, being a mom myself, I know what she wanted all along — a peaceful day all to herself or one night where we didn’t fight with our siblings like madmen. Continue reading our post if you’re curious to know the eight things moms really want for Christmas.

1. Sleeping Late

“For any mum, a great day would constitute sleeping till 8 or 9 in the morning. But with so many responsibilities to shoulder, that’s the one thing I cannot risk doing. Instead of getting presents this Christmas, it would be great if I could sleep till late in the morning without worrying about how the rest of the day would go.” – Sana

2. Some Nice Boots

“Moms love materialistic stuff too, and I would definitely love a nice pair of boots that I can wear with almost every outfit. So, if you’re confused about what to buy your mom for Christmas, you could simply ask her what she wants instead of getting her a beater or a boring sweater.” – Jenny

3. Never To Watch Frozen Again

“Believe me, I love the movie, but there is only so much Frozen a mom could take in a year before she starts thinking why did she ever introduce this movie to her toddler. I can’t recall the number of times that I watched this movie with my little ones. But if there is one wish I have for Christmas this year, it’s never having to sit through it again.” – Naina

4. To Be Able To Eat The Secret Cookies And Candies

5. A Face Cream That Would Make it Look Like I Actually Got Some Sleep

“Sure, it would be nice to get some sleep. But let’s be real, being a mom, it’s impossible to get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every day. So, the only practical thing I could wish for is a face cream that would help my skin look healthy and radiant even when I feel like a zombie inside.” – Nimmi

6. Leaving The House With My Kids With Zero Meltdowns

“It would be nice to leave the house with my kids without having multiple meltdowns. Having them put on shoes when I ask them to, wearing the dress that I laid out for them without making a fuss over it, and not having the urge to potty just when we leave the house are just a few things I wish for this year.” – Hailey

7. To Have One Whole Weekend To Myself

“I love my kids, but they can be a handful. And it’s been ages since I had a relaxing weekend without having to worry about my kids. I wish my husband would take over all the parenting duties just for a few days so that I could go on a small vacay — have room service bring over food, watch my favorite TV series in bed, and drink wine all day long. Now that’s a perfect Christmas present.” – Sara

8. Not Having To Cook For A Whole Week

“I bet this isn’t just mine, but every mother’s dream. I love cooking for my kids and trying out delicious new recipes, but when you do it every day, three times a day, it gets a little tiring. I guess taking a small break from cooking would give me a break that I desperately need so that I can be just as passionate when I first started preparing food for my family.” – Ria
